There has been a lot of talk on the internet surrounding which young quarterback will take the biggest leap in year two. To us, that quarterback will be Trey Lance of the #49ers. The young signal caller was not pressed into action his rookie year, he was able to sit behind veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, learn the offense, and also get a little playing time. This strategy is very simalar to the approach Andy Reid and the #KansasCity #Chiefs took with Patrick Mahomes. Coming into year two, Lance is also surrounded by arguably the best team among his contemporaries. With All Pro Deebo Samuel at wide receiver, All Pro George Kittle at tight end, talented second year running back Elijah Mitchell, and All Pro left tackle Trent Williams. Lance also has the #NFL’s third ranked defense, anchored by All Pro Nick Bosa and Fred Warner, which should take the pressure off him having to outscore opposing teams on a weekly basis. Then there’s 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, one of the games best play callers. Shannahan will no doubt structure the offense around Lance’s elite talent, and take advantage of his athleticism. In our opinion, no other second year quarterback has been set up to succeed better than Trey Lance.
